Asami and Mako better step in and help Bolin in the scene after that new clip or so help me I’ll be v upset
apologies for the chicken scratch drawings
but whatever gotta head to school in the next few minutes
Is this ship still hilarious and cute???
The double standard in this fandom pisses me off.
It’s okay to treat this abuse as comic relief, heck there is nothing wrong with the abuse simply because Bolin is a boy and Eska is a girl.
No screw you, abuse is never okay. Anyone can be abused and anyone can be an abuser. It’s not funny or cute.
But yes, people would be calling for Bryke’s head on a pitchfork if the genders were reversed in Boleska in this scenario.
It’s creepy, it’s not cute, and it most CERTAINLY IS NOT funny nor should it be portrayed as funny.
I try my best not to bash shippings, but I think I will step beyond my rule to put a big no sign for this shipping.
At first, I found it kind of funny when first introduced, thinking she might so a sweet side after the initial introduction. Nope. It escalated in the scary as fuck department. I felt really bad for Bolin and hated Eska by the end of the ship’s introduction. It isn’t funny. It isn’t cute. And creepy is a MAJOR FUCKING UNDERSTATEMENT! It’s down right SCARY! I don’t care what gender either the characters are, when you threaten death to a character when they want to break up, that shit is scary.
Then, let’s talk about that last scene from episode 3 when Eska was crying and BEGINNING her chase of Bolin, Eska doesn’t understand anything about a healthy relationship. However, that doesn’t excuse her actions as a shitty-ass girlfriend. I’m hoping that this “ship” does get treated more seriously as a major point to those who see this happening actually UNDERSTAND that this is not okay. I want to see the “oh shit” realization on Asami, Mako, and Korra’s faces as they realize that Bolin is in actual major trouble when they see or before the extent of Eska’s batshit-insane-ness.
To those who say “Bolin pursued it, so he is kinda at fault” or “he hasn’t broken up with her, so it’s his fault,” I say a big fucking “NOPE." Bolin went in thinking that it wouldn’t be as bad as Korra made it out to be, not expecting her to be batshit crazy. Yes, he made a mistake, I will give you that but—and I repeat—the abuse is NOT his fault.
The comic above displays the absolute fear that is downplayed in the narrative, despite the characters being genderbent.
shortly after the season finale, Bolin, to Mako’s dismay, decides to join the metalbending police in order to apprehend the remaining chi-blockers. This task turns out to be more demanding than expected and the police forces have a tough time with keeping Republic City safe. After one particularly rough night Bolin, not wanting to concern his brother, goes to Asami.
